Wildwag Girl and I are making a string quilt this summer for a new cousin on the way. We would love if some would join us. We are making a quilt similar to this one by Ashley at Film in the Fridge.
Ours will be pinks and white. We are using this tutorial also from Ashley.
These blocks are easy to make and could be assembled into any size quilt, a bag, or a pillow. I have been wanting to make this quilt for ages. It is a great way to use up scraps. The strips can even be wonky if you like. Or of you don’t want to cut strips you can use precuts. Fat Quarter Shop has a great selection of jelly rolls .
I will have a fairly relaxed schedule to encourage beginner quilters.
June 7-21 Plan, gather, cut fabrics
June 21-July 14 Sew strips
July 14-21 trim squares and assemble
July 21-August 4 Quilt
August 4-28 Bind
If you are local, I will email you with times we can get together. I have also created a Flickr group to post pictures of our progress.
This will be really fun!
